Traveling Superintendent

We are seeking a skilled Superintendent to oversee all aspects of construction operations on-site. In this role, you will provide hands-on supervision of daily field activities, managing subcontractors, vendors, craftsmen, and construction personnel to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate has experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, and multifamily construction, with a strong track record in wood-frame construction and high-quality workmanship.

This is a traveling role, with projects located across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Virginia. You will coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers to execute work plans, monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and maintain project documentation. This position requires a proactive leader who can anticipate challenges, optimize resources, and maintain strong communication with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and direct on-site construction teams, including assistants, subcontractors, and trade personnel.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.
  • Enforce safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies on all job sites.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships.
  • Monitor material deliveries, equipment usage, and inventory to prevent delays.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets company and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and safety records.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of construction experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Hands-on experience with senior living, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, and multifamily construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Wood-frame construction experience required; knowledge of concrete, steel, and MEP systems a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, OSHA regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and OSHA certifications preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
