Staff Accountant
Dallas, TX – 100% on-site
Compensation – $60,000 - $80,000 Base salary
Overview The Accountant performs various duties across the full lifecycle of accounting including journal entry preparation, general ledger analysis and reconciliation, and monthly financial reporting. This role ensures accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and prepares financial reporting packages. What you will do
· Prepare and analyze journal entries on both GAAP and tax basis. This includes standard recurring entries, reclasses or adjustments, review of all income and expenses, accruals, allocation of overhead, account reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
· Prepares and review account reconciliations schedules as needed to analyze general ledger accounts.
· Review cash posting by Accounting Clerks.
· Prepares and review general ledger coding for cash entries, fixed assets, accounts payable, reclassifications and adjustments, and wire transfers.
· Prepares, compiles, and analyzes support for monthly reporting and/or loan draw packages for submittal to lending institutions and external business partners. Analyzes and investigates unusual variances.
· Assists in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, financial statements, and cash flow.
· Monitors established budgets, analyze and investigates unusual variances, and communicates findings.
· Provides support schedules used in budgeting and debt compliance.
· Prepare documentation for quarterly reviews, compliance audits, and annual audits.
· Ensures accounting integrity of financial data through the execution of internal controls.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
· CPA or CPA eligible
· 2+ years in an accounting function.
· Experience with Yardi, Workday, or other ERP systems
· Experience in real estate industry
· Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
· Requires a detail orientated, independent thinker who can be a part of a team and demonstrates knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
· Manage multiple tasks, projects, and ability to prioritize.
