This Civil Project Manager role, based in Hackettstown, NJ, is an opportunity to take ownership from the start. You’ll manage private and public land and site development work from initial strategy through final design, while also helping grow relationships that lead to new work. What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships in civil site development and land development
- Identify opportunities for follow-on projects and new land development work
- Cross sell multidisciplinary engineering services by recognizing evolving client needs
- Seek and pursue new leads for civil engineering projects, coordinating with department leadership
- Support RFQ strategies, budget planning, and proposal development specific to civil site development projects
- Prepare detailed proposals in line with department policies, coordinating with marketing and technical teams
- Recommend qualified sub-consultants and oversee contract preparation for civil work
- Lead project planning, quality assurance, QA/QC processes, budget, and schedule development for civil engineering projects
- Oversee progress reporting, change orders, and internal cost reviews to keep land development projects on track
- Monitor project performance and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency in site engineering work
- Participate in non-project initiatives that enhance business operations and client satisfaction
- Ensure timely billing receivables, and compliance with document retention policies related to civil site development projects
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Valid New Jersey PE license
- 10+ years of experience specifically in site engineering and land development management
- Experience testifying before municipal boards as an expert witness to advance land development project approvals
- Strong business acumen with a successful track record of cross-selling and expanding client accounts in the civil engineering field
- Deep understanding of risk management practices, contract negotiation, and compliance in site engineering projects
