Senior Estimator

Job Summary:

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. This role involves working closely with the owner, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to understand project requirements.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.

  • Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Perform quantity take-offs using digital tools or by hand.

  • Identify value engineering options and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Assist in developing construction schedules and bid packages.

  • Maintain a database of unit costs and vendor pricing.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.

  • Collaborate with the owner and project team to develop winning proposals.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with a general contractor.

  • Strong knowledge of retail, restaurants and education construction methods and materials.

  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional site visits.
