Senior Civil Engineer

We’re working with a multidisciplinary design firm with a reputation for shaping thoughtful, community-centered environments. They’re seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to take ownership of projects across green infrastructure, transportation, higher education, and urban open space — with flexibility to work remotely or from one of several design studios across the state.


🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead design efforts on civil/site projects, including paving, grading, stormwater, utilities, and erosion control

  • Develop full design packages: concepts, construction documents, specs, reports, cost estimates, and SWPPPs

  • Mentor and manage junior staff — review work, delegate tasks, and support professional development

  • Coordinate with internal architects, landscape architects, and engineers, as well as public agencies and consultants

  • Attend client meetings, manage construction administration, and conduct periodic site visits

  • Ensure technical excellence, timeliness, and budget alignment across your portfolio


📌 What You Bring

  • 7+ years of civil engineering experience across site development, stormwater, and infrastructure

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture

  • PE license in New York (or EIT with near-term plans to obtain PE)

  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; HydroCAD or stormwater modeling software a plus

  • Familiarity with permitting processes and agency coordination across New York State

  • Strong communication, leadership, and project coordination skills

  • A collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute to meaningful public-facing projects
