Project Manager

We are working with a reputable and fast-growing general contractor specializing in ground-up commercial buildings, tenant improvements, and complex renovations in Connecticut looking for Project Managers to work on a number of commercial projects with a mixture of an on-site presence and in-office presence. 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee commercial construction projects from preconstruction through close-out. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships to ensure successful project execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of commercial construction projects, from preconstruction planning to final completion.

  • Coordinate and lead project meetings with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and forecasts; track project milestones and deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and permits.

  • Issue subcontracts, change orders, purchase orders, and RFIs.

  • Work closely with field superintendents to ensure project execution aligns with design documents and company standards.

  • Identify and resolve issues related to budget, scheduling, and construction quality.

  • Regularly report project progress, costs, and risk assessments to senior leadership.

  • Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and trade partners.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably with a general contractor. - Project industries Retail, Education, Hospitality, Entertainment, Medical

  • Strong knowledge of commercial building methods, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or Procore), and construction documents.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades on complex job sites.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).

  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
