A consulting engineering firm is looking to add a Construction Administrator with strong field experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems. This is a full-time role suited to someone who understands how MEP systems are built and installed—whether through construction, maintenance, or technical service work. A background in engineering is helpful, but not essential. Candidates must be able to speak to past project experience and demonstrate practical knowledge of construction-phase MEP work.
What You’ll Do
- Visit active construction sites to observe MEP system installations
- Document observations and site conditions through detailed reporting
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for alignment with design documents
- Coordinate with project managers, principals, and engineers on field-related issues
- Identify and communicate discrepancies, code issues, or deviations from plans
- Contribute to constructability reviews and technical discussions with the design team
What You’ll Bring
- At least 5 years of experience in construction, engineering, facilities, or service trades (HVAC, plumbing, or electrical)
- Working knowledge of MEP construction practices and industry standards
- Engineering background is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in a technical setting
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- High attention to detail and site awareness
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; Revit or AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
