A nationally recognized design studio specializing in integrated architecture, engineering, and urban design is looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to drive the delivery of innovative site and infrastructure projects — while building and mentoring a high-performing team around you.
This role is ideal for a PE-licensed civil engineer with a passion for shaping urban environments and a desire to grow into a strategic leadership role. You’ll work on public realm projects that blend technical excellence with design sensitivity — from transportation corridors to civic hubs, streetscapes to waterfronts.
🌆 What You’ll Do

Lead the civil engineering efforts for major urban infrastructure and site design projects in NYC

Oversee grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout with a strong grasp of local regulations

Act as the technical lead in client and agency meetings, guiding designs from concept to construction

Collaborate closely with architects, planners, and designers in a multidisciplinary studio environment

Mentor junior staff and help build out a civil engineering team aligned with the firm’s creative vision

Develop internal workflows, best practices, and sustainable design strategies
🧠 What You Bring

PE license in New York (or ability to obtain quickly)

10+ years of experience in civil/site engineering, ideally within urban or public space contexts

Strong knowledge of NYC codes, DOB permitting, and agency coordination

Technical proficiency in Civil 3D, drainage design, and site infrastructure modeling

Confident communicator and team mentor with a collaborative leadership style
