A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to add a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to its collaborative team in New York City. This is a key leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys technical challenges, mentoring junior staff, and driving project success across a variety of geotechnical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and geotechnical recommendations.

Lead design efforts for foundations, retaining walls, excavation support, and other geotechnical systems—including Plaxis 3D analysis.

Oversee proposal development, client management, and project billing.

Mentor junior staff, conduct technical reviews, and support career development within the team.

Coordinate and review field investigations, boring logs, and construction oversight.

Manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and client expectations.

Participate in fieldwork and site visits as required.
Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field).

PE license (NY preferred or eligible via reciprocity).

10+ years of hands-on geotechnical engineering experience.

Proficient in managing both office and field operations—from investigation to construction phase support.

Practical experience with earthwork, foundation systems (driven/drilled piles), ground improvement, excavation support, and retaining wall design.

Familiarity with software tools such as gINT, Slide/SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, and SHAKE.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must have valid driver’s license and transportation for client and job site visits.
