Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for ground-up commercial projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Analysis:

Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications to understand the full scope of work.

Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates for all CSI divisions.

Bid Preparation:

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.

Prepare complete bid proposals, including pricing, qualifications, clarifications, and schedules.

Cost Estimating:

Develop conceptual and schematic estimates during early project phases.

Analyze historical cost data and market trends to forecast construction costs accurately.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, superintendents, architects, and engineers during the preconstruction phase.

Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and design reviews as needed.

Risk Management:
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, with a focus on ground-up projects.

Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working for a general contractor on ground-up commercial projects valued between $1M–$50M.

Familiarity with LEED, sustainable building practices, and local building codes.

Knowledge of BIM, Procore, or other project management tools.
